Badminton Horse TrialsVoted the most prestigious equestrian event of the year, the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials will be hosted during the Easter Bank holiday weekend. Hopefully this might give parents something to do with the kids that weekend that won’t cost the earth.

It is held at the Duke of Beaufort’s Gloucestershire Park on the 21st to the 25th April 2011. Suitable for the whole family, the three day event sports a friendly atmosphere and many side attractions for non-equestrian spectators. This is the first time in more than 20 years that this traditional event has been held during the school holidays thanks to Easter being so late. Make the most of the opportunity now.

On the final day of Trials, Duke Beaufort (Host) and MD of Mitsubishi Motor UK will be joined by HRH Princess Haya Al Hussein, President of the International Equestrian Federation will be in attendance to give out awards. The final day has been argued to be the most glamorous day of the event.

A shopping village with over 250 stands are sure to keep most entertained. Handmade rocking horses will be one of many traditional products making an appearance. Host of the event, The Duke of Beaufort, has a traditional rocking horse made by Stevenson Brothers and proudly displays it in the Badminton House. Attend the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials and take a look at the handmade rocking horses and other famous brands for yourself.

Howletts has revealed a calendar of entertaining activities that will feature throughout the months. This will include March’s ‘The Circle of Life’, April’s ‘Easter Eggstravaganza’, May’s ‘Darling Buds of May’, June’s ‘Animal Detective’s’, July’s ‘Howletts Worldwide’, August’s ‘Ape Month’, September’s ‘Go Native!’, October’s ‘Orange Uproar’, November’s ‘Evolutionary Challenge’ and December’s ‘Advent Animals’.

This day out in KentHowletts Passport will then have parents covered when it comes to affordable trips during school holidays. Visit the Wild Animal Park to see some of the most beautiful animals in the world including, tigers, gorillas and the largest herd of African elephants in the UK. Adopt an animal for Mother’s Day

Aspinall FoundationMother’s day is only a month away so I have started to look for gifts. I wanted to step away from the boring perfume, flowers and chocolates idea and get my Mum something a little different.
My Mum is an animal so I thought what would be more perfect than to adopt an animal for her.

Not only will this be something a bit different it will also help me with the financial side of things as I can pay for the animal monthly on her behalf. I think she would love the opportunity to visit an animal at Howletts animal park as it is not too far for her to travel.

Considering the economic environment is in a state of depression it also feels great that whilst buying a gift we are also helping a brilliant charity. If your mum loves animals why not have a look at the Aspinall foundation for the perfect gift this Mother’s day.
